Experiential Learning Activities
Hands-on learning activities support our students’ growth – academically and socially- and are part of what makes The Norman Howard School so special. But, these activities require school funds and, in most cases, also require our families to help cover the costs.
1:1 iPad Initiative
Technology is equalizing for our kids who struggle with reading, writing and language. We began this successful initiative 3 years ago. All students in grades 8 – 10 have a tablet that they take with them through the school day and keep with them at home for evenings and weekends. We hope to expand the initiative in the coming year to include all 11th and 12th graders.
Professional and Curriculum Development
One of our greatest assets is our faculty and professional staff. To cultivate the teacher expertise which distinguishes us from other schools, we need to provide professional learning opportunities and resources to create new, engaging curriculum.
