About the event
The Norman Howard School is proud to be Rochester's learning disabilities resource. We've partnered with Starbridge to present this valuable free workshop for parents.
A Starbridge Family Education Specialist will help you understand:
- Your child’s education rights
- 504 Plans and IEPs
- Legal due process rights under Federal and State laws
- Communication and advocacy tips for school meetings
Children who have learning disabilities are entitled to appropriate, individualized, educational supports and services that meet their unique learning needs. A Starbridge Education Specialist will explain key federal laws that govern education for students who have disabilities: Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Join us to learn what your child's rights are, how they qualify for special education services, and ways these services may be delivered. You may also RSVP by calling Julie Murray at 585-210-4721.
