Alumni Spotlight

We are excited to share that Richard Deverell, Class of 2005, has advanced to PhD candidacy in his doctoral program at the University at Buffalo, having passed his qualifying exams with distinction and successfully defending his dissertation prospectus. After graduating from The Norman Howard School, Richard completed his A.S. in Liberal Arts at Monroe Community College (2009), his B.S. (2012) and M.A. (2013) in History at the College at Brockport. Richard’s goal is to receive his doctorate and become a college professor. Richard shared, “NHS helped reinforce my love of learning and gave me the tools I needed to succeed when I began college. The 9th grade class research paper and the skills that were instilled over the four years of high school helped me not only succeed, but to enjoy whatever I was studying.” Keep up the great work, Richard!
