I appreciate the sense of community shared by both staff and students at The Norman Howard School. 

Mr. Hermance enjoys sharing his love of history and political science with the students, helping them to make connections between past and present they hadn't considered before. He joined The Norman Howard School in 2003 and teaches 9th and 10th grade Global Studies.

Originally from Galway, NY, Mr. Hermance has lived in Rochester since attending Nazareth College.  Outside of Norman Howard, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, coaching basketball and baseball, and rooting for the New York Mets.  He is the Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Harley-Allendale Columbia and an Adjunct Professor in the Education Department at Roberts Wesleyan College.
